We support public institutions, universities, and companies in the study and management of environmental systems, contributing to the design and planning of interventions across the territory.
Coastal Protection
Design and technical support for coastal defense interventions and shoreline stabilization, aimed at reducing erosion processes and protecting coastal areas.
Activities include the analysis of coastal dynamics, assessment of shoreline evolution, and support for the planning and design of beach nourishment interventions, protective structures, and sustainable coastal management strategies.
The approach integrates oceanographic data, morphodynamic analyses, and numerical modeling to develop effective, resilient solutions that are compatible with the environmental balance of coastal systems.
Numerical Modeling
Development of numerical models for the study of coastal and hydrodynamic processes, aimed at understanding and predicting the mechanisms that influence shoreline evolution.
Activities include simulations of coastal evolution, wave run-up, erosion processes, and current dynamics, using advanced modeling tools such as XBeach 2DH and XBeach-G.
Numerical modeling makes it possible to analyze evolutionary scenarios, assess the impacts of extreme metocean events, and support the design of coastal structures and shoreline protection interventions.
Simulation results provide valuable decision-making tools for spatial planning, coastal risk management, and the development of resilient and sustainable solutions.
Pollutant Modeling.
Development of numerical models for simulating the dispersion of pollutants in marine, port, and coastal environments, aimed at assessing environmental impacts and supporting the planning and management of maritime areas.
Activities include the analysis of pollutant dispersion and transport processes, taking into account local hydrodynamic conditions, marine currents, and metocean factors.
Simulations are carried out using advanced modeling platforms such as Delft3D, enabling the reconstruction of evolutionary scenarios and the assessment of pollutant behavior over time.
Numerical modeling is a fundamental tool for environmental impact studies, emergency management, and the planning of port and coastal activities, providing technical and scientific support for the development of mitigation strategies and the protection of the marine environment.
Topographic and Bathymetric Surveys and 3D Photogrammetry
GeoScape carries out high-precision topographic and bathymetric surveys for the detailed reconstruction of land morphology and seabed features. Activities include 3D photogrammetry using drones, remote sensing, and satellite image analysis, aimed at producing digital models and technical cartography to support environmental studies and planning interventions.
The acquired data are processed to produce terrestrial and underwater digital cartography, support morphological analysis of the territory, and develop models for the design and management of environmental and infrastructure systems.
The service also includes high-precision GNSS surveys, the development of Web GIS platforms for managing and sharing spatial data, and training activities in digital cartography within GIS environments, aimed at public institutions and companies seeking to digitize and improve their territorial management processes.
Survey activities are supported by advanced instrumentation, including a DJI Mavic 4 Pro drone for photogrammetry, a GeoMax 25 Pro multi-constellation GNSS with ITALPOS service, and a single-beam system integrated with GNSS RTK, ensuring data acquisition with centimeter-level accuracy.
Cartography and Spatial Analysis
GeoScape produces terrestrial and underwater digital cartography to support environmental studies, spatial analyses, and planning activities.
By integrating data from topographic and bathymetric surveys, remote sensing, and GIS systems, we generate thematic maps and spatial models that support the understanding of environmental processes and the management of the territory.
Activities include the collection and processing of geospatial data, cartographic analysis, and the interpretation of territorial dynamics, providing operational tools for public institutions, designers, and companies involved in planning, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure development.
The cartography produced supports technical and strategic decision-making based on reliable data and high-precision spatial representations.
GNSS Surveys, Web GIS, and GIS Training.
GeoScape conducts high-precision GNSS surveys for the acquisition of geospatial data, supporting monitoring, cartography, and spatial planning activities.
The collected data are integrated into geographic information systems for the analysis and management of spatial information.
The service also includes the development of Web GIS platforms, enabling the visualization, sharing, and updating of cartographic data in digital environments accessible to public institutions, companies, and professionals.
GeoScape also provides GIS training activities aimed at supporting administrations and organizations in the digitalization of territorial management processes and the advanced use of geographic analysis tools.
Physicochemical Surveys and Oceanographic Campaigns
GeoScape conducts physicochemical surveys of the water column and oceanographic campaigns aimed at studying environmental characteristics and hydrodynamic processes in marine and coastal environments.
Activities include monitoring the main physicochemical parameters of water masses—such as temperature, conductivity, salinity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, and pH—using multiparameter CTD probes.
In parallel, oceanographic campaigns are carried out to analyze marine currents using current meters and Doppler profilers (ADCP), enabling the study of flow structure and dynamics throughout the water column.
The collected data are processed to produce thematic cartography and dedicated web applications, supporting environmental monitoring, coastal planning, and the assessment of impacts on marine ecosystems.
Activities are supported by advanced scientific instrumentation, including an XMAR multiparameter CTD probe, a Workhorse II Monitor 600 kHz ADCP Doppler profiler, and a Valeport 106 single-point current meter.
Underwater Surveys.
GeoScape conducts scientific underwater surveys for the study and monitoring of marine and coastal environments, using specialized scientific divers and marine biologists.
These activities enable the direct collection of data on seabeds and submerged ecosystems, supporting environmental studies, impact assessments, and coastal planning interventions.
Surveys include seabed inspections, photographic and video documentation, habitat mapping, and assessments of the conservation status of marine ecosystems, with particular attention to sensitive habitats and biodiversity.
The collected data are processed and integrated into cartographic and GIS systems, providing valuable tools for environmental monitoring, the sustainable management of marine areas, and the design of coastal and infrastructure interventions.
Sedimentological and Soil Analysis
GeoScape conducts sampling and sedimentological analyses in marine and terrestrial environments, aimed at characterizing sediments and assessing their environmental quality, in compliance with current regulations (DM 173/2016 and Legislative Decree 152/2006 – Environmental Code).
In marine environments, sediment sampling is carried out using Van Veen grabs (5 and 18 liters) down to depths of 70 meters, as well as coring up to 2 meters of penetration, supporting the study of sedimentological and granulometric properties.
Analyses include the determination of key sediment statistical parameters—such as mean grain size, sorting, and skewness—and the assessment of material quality for port dredging activities and artificial beach nourishment.
In terrestrial environments, exploratory pits and soil horizon sampling are carried out, with analyses aimed at pedological characterization and the assessment of soil functional properties to support infrastructure projects and environmental studies.
Projects that Turn Data into Decisions
Each service is built on the integration of scientific research, technical expertise, and in-depth knowledge of the territory, with the aim of transforming data and analysis into concrete actions.
Over time, we have supported public institutions, universities, and private companies in the development of projects focused on sustainable environmental management, spatial planning, and the protection of marine and terrestrial ecosystems.
Our projects represent the practical application of the expertise and technologies we provide to our clients: from environmental monitoring activities to modeling, from coastal protection to surveying and territorial analysis.
